Today is Tuesday. I have to remind myself what day of the week it is because I’m starting to get confused.
I did yoga with T at lunch today. It was nice and relaxing. I feel stretched out, which was nice because I was starting to feel quite stiff.
I went out for a walk this evening to Concord Park. I discovered that there’s a new way to get to KU Concord. It would save my mum heaps of time when she goes there for work.
Tonight I also gave my grandma a call. It’s part of my goal of keeping everyone connected. My grandma got her hearing aids last Friday but refuses to use them. Which I have to say, is fair enough. You don’t need to wear them everyday, especially since the battery only lasts 2 weeks.
She’s finally coming around to the fact that the coronavirus is really bad. But she’s still going out to the shops. I told her that just ask the helper that comes on Wednesday to bring her things. She said that she needs to go to the shops herself in order to know what to buy. It’s frustrating that she’s being picky about food at a time where it’s more important that she survives this rather than decide whether she prefers pork dumplings or chicken dumplings. I was at my wits end and told her that I didn’t want her to die. Yep, those exact words. I’m not sure if she heard me or misheard me, but because I chocked up she said something along the lines of “okay that’s it for now, thanks for the call and your concerns” and then we slowly hung up on each other.
I really don’t know what to do. I understand why she wouldn’t want to go to Coles because it’s all western food and she only likes Chinese food. In that sense I feel sorry for her to live in a foreign country where she doesn’t enjoy the food and have so little friends that she truly like.
WFH Day 3
Gratitude: having food in the house, being able to order online, Australia’s COVID-19 situation not being that bad just yet
