Working from home

After days of speculation the day’s finally arrived. I worked from home today. Well kind of. I had a meeting at 10:30 at Dence Park.

WFH is surprisingly busy and stressful. Maybe it’s because I feel like I need to prove that I’m working, so I actually do more work when I’m at home than when I’m at work.

Last night, I didn’t sleep very well. It’s because my laptop chose now to actually start dying. It won’t charge unless it’s turned off. And it takes forever to charge up. I’m worried that I won’t be able to find a replacement laptop. And so I woke up thinking about Plan A, Plan B, Plan C etc.

Plan A - call IT to ask for help. 90% likely to be futile because it’s our IT department and because all available laptops would have already been allocated given the current state of play.

Plan B - ask E for her old laptop. 70% likely to succeed because E is nice. But I say 30% because I’m not sure whether E ended up returning her laptop.

Plan C - go into work and see if I can retrieve the laptop’s docking station. The laptop seems to charge better on the docking station.

And so yes, my mind went around in circles.

Anyways, I was planning to go to Meat Emporium to do a shop but T (who was also WFH) wanted to come along. He didn’t finish work till 5 so I had to wait for him. And then when 5 came around he was on a call so didn’t actually finish till about 5:20. I’m trying to be logical about the fact that we don’t need to hoard meat, but I’m also 5% anxious.
